Batate vada | Potato vada | Aloo bonda

Vada pav (Indian burger) is very popular Indian vegetarian fast food Or snack in India.It literally means potato fritters. It consist of a potato mash patty coated with chickpea flour, then deep fried and served hot with chutney. 


Ingredients:
For batter-
1 cup besan (chickpea flour) 
3/4 to 1 cup water
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Pinch of baking soda
Baking and spices-
2 tsp oil
1/4 tsp Musturd seeds
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
Pinch of hing/ asafoetida
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
1 tbsp cilantro/coriander
2-3 green chillies
1 pinch hing
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp lemon juice/amchur powder

How to make:
• In a pan, heat 2 tsp oil. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste. Saute for few seconds. Add boiled mashed potatoes. Add lemon juice and salt to taste. 
• Mix it well. Let it cool down. 
• Then make a small balls. 
Keep aside. 
• Then make a besan batter. In a bowl add besan, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, salt,water and make mediam consistency batter. (Not to much thin nor thick) 
• Add pinch of baking soda and mix it well. 
• Put on potato ball into besan batter. It should be coated completely with Besan batter. Now drop it into hot oil. 
• Deep fry until golden brown. 
• Spread green chutney inside the bun/pav.place 1 vada and vada pav is ready.
