Ragi dosa

Ragi is a whole grain that is gluten free and staple in South India. It is rich in fibre that helps with weight loss and Diabetes. It's packed with calcium, good carbs, ammino acids and vitamin D.  Ingredients : Ragi flour 2 cup Urad dal 1/4 cup Rice 1/2 cup Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp How to make: • Wash and soak urad dal and rice in a bowl, in this add fenugreek seeds. Keep this for 5 hours.   • After 5  hours drain and rinse the water then grind it to smooth  consistency.  • Then add ragi flour in it. Mix it well with required amount of water.  • Cover it and keep aside in a warm place for fermentation.  • After fermentation take the batter add salt to taste.  Mix it well.  • Check the batter consistency. if it is too thick add water.  Mix it well.  • Pre heat non stick tawa/ iron tawa.  • On heated tawa spread batter evenely.  • Apply few drops of ghee Or oil.  • Cook it for few minutes. Then flip dosa and apply ghee  or oil on other side also.  Cook it till become gold

onion tomato chutney

Onion tomato chutney is tangy and tasty South Indian chutney, perfectly goes with Idli,dosa. It is easy to make and tastes really yum.  This chutney made from onion, tomato, red chili and few spices which are easily available in your kitchen.  Ingredients : Onion 1 large Tomato 2  Red chili 3-4 Bengal gram 2 tsp Urad dal 1 tsp Mustard seed 1/2 tsp Ginger 1 inch Garlic 4-5 Curry leaves  Jeera 1 tsp Salt to taste How to make ; • Heat oil in a pan.  • In this add 1 tsp urad dal, mustard seeds, jeera, dry red chili, ginger garlic, Curry leaves, bengal gram and onion.  • Cook it till the onions become soft. Do not overcook the onions.  • Then add tomatoes and salt to taste.  • Cook it till tomatoes become soft.  • Then add little tamarind.  • Let it cool.  • Grind it in a smooth paste without adding water.  Transfer into bowl.  Serve with dosa, idli , appe .

An easy to make fried fish recipe enriched with ginger, garlic and red chilli powder. Made with semolina, this fried fish recipe is a flavourful and tangy mix of spices that makes it a great option to prepare.This is a quiet easy and tasty crispy appetizer.  Try this simple easy recipe and let me know how it turned.  Ingredients: 250 gm veloori fish/any small fish 1 tsp chilli powder 1 tsp salt 2 tsp oil 20 gm tamarind pulp/lemon 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp ginger garlic paste Rava (soojee), to coat fish 2 tbsp rice powder, to coat fish Oil  How to make: Clean the fish with cold water long with lime and salt.keep aside for few minute. Then Marinate the fish in chilli powder, salt, tamarind/ half lemon juice,turmeric ,2 tsp oil and ginger garlic for about 15 minutes.  Heat oil in a kadai.   In a sooji add a little salt,chilli powder and rice powder.   Dip fish in sooji to coat on both sides and deep fry till crisp and brown. Serve hot with onion and lemon. 

Moong dal appe

Green moong dal is packed with protein and low on carbs, also known as green gram,is one of the most recommended vegetarian superfoods.green gram is a extremely light and easy to digest.Compared to other dals, moong dal is low in carbs, making it a healthier option. Green moong dal appe is healthy, quick breakfast/snack recipe. Enjoy this nutritious snack with kids and family. Make this appe just before serving.  Ingredients : Moong dal 1/2 cup Rice 1/2 cup Urad dal 1/4 cup Baking soda 2 pinch Salt Onion 1 mediam size (finely chopped)  For tarka/ tempering: Musturd seeds 1/2 tsp Jeera/cumin powder 1/2 tsp Hing/ Asafoetida Curry leaves How to make: Wash the Moong dal, urad dal and rice twice and soak overnight or minimum 5 hrs.  After soaking rinse everything well and grind it in a fine paste using required amount of water.  (If you have more time you can keep this for fermentation for 2 - 5 hrs mininum. sweet potato flatbread / poli

Sweet potato poli is made with cooked mashed sweet potato along with jaggery or sugar. This recipe is easy to make just like we make stuffed paratha.  This is quicker versions of poli or flatbread using sugar powder. Served with aamras It taste even better.  Here is the recipe.  Ingredients : For Dough : Whole wheat flour Salt Water For Stuffing: Sweet potato 3-4 Cardemom powder Ghee/ Oil Sugar powder 1/2 cup or more( as per your taste)  How to make: • Sieve wheat flour and salt in a mixing bowl, add required water and kneed to soft dough.  • Add ghee / oil and kneed it again.  • Cover and keep aside for at least 30 minutes.  • In a bowl add boiled sweet potato, mash it very well add sugar powder and cardemom powder. And mix it well.  Keep aside.  *(You can use jaggery instead of sugar. In a pan , Add crushed jaggery and 1 tbsp water. Once jaggery is completely dissolve add mashed potatoes and cardamom powder. Butter naan | No yeast whole wheat naan | Naan

Naan is a type of Indian flat bread. This is very easy recipe and can be made from the ingredients easily available in your pantry. I make this naan on pan and without yeast. No tandoor, no oven and eggless, still crispy, soft and fluffy naan like restaurant.perfectly goes with any gravy,  paneer .  Mostly I try out dishesh with whole wheat instead of refined flour. And these whole wheat naan come out super soft and they remain soft.  Ingredients : Whole wheat flour  1 1/2 cup Maida 1/2 cup Baking powder  1 tsp Baking soda   1/4 tsp Garlic  2 tsp(minced)  Butter Oil Corriander Nigella seeds/sesame seeds Suger 1 tsp Water/Milk How to make : •  Sieve the both flours in a mixing bowl, along with salt,sugar, baking soda and baking powder. Mix it well.  • Add 1 tsp oil, yogurt and mix it well.  • Add little water / milk at a time and kneed the dough.  • The dough should neither be thick nor thin.
